Paratransit Driver

We are looking for an experienced Bus Driver to join our team in Concord, CA. This is a union position subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay

Starting pay: $23.90 per hour, with progression to $29.28 per hour over 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Execute flawless operations by following designated routes and schedules while adhering to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
• Provide exceptional care and assistance to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
• Uphold company policies and procedures, including seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• 21 years or older
• Valid CDL Class C with passenger endorsement and VTT
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason)

Physical Requirements

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations)
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 15 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
• Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
