Paratransit Driver

We are currently seeking an experienced Paratransit Driver/Operator to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

As a key member of our team, you will ensure safe and comfortable transportation for passengers while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Pay

Starting pay is $21.24 per hour, with progression to $28.44 over 5 years as outlined in the union collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Execute flawless operations by following designated routes and schedules while adhering to safety protocols and traffic regulations
• Provide exceptional care and assistance to passengers, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation
• Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and maintain cleanliness and safety equipment readiness
• Uphold company policies and procedures, including seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• 21 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
• Must pass DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (90% of the job is performed outside)
• Ability to work alone and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day)
• Frequently walk for long distances on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally throughout the workday
• Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
• Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas, exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
