Paraprofessional Substitute at Aitkin High School

About the Role

Special Education Paraprofessionals provide assistance, under classroom teacher direction, to students identified with special needs by helping them stay on task, complete assignments, maintain acceptable behavior, and function in daily living and job skills. Duties are illustrative and not all-inclusive.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs to stay on task and complete assignments
• Help maintain acceptable behavior in the classroom
• Support students in daily living and job skills
• Follow direction from supervising teacher(s) and work as part of a team
• Lift, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associates degree, 60 credits in post-secondary education, or willingness to take and pass the Para Pro Assessment
• Acceptance of students' disabilities and limitations
• Ability to lift, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds
• Willingness to accept direction from supervising teacher(s) and work as a team

Schedule

Short-call substitute positions available at Rippleside Elementary and/or Aitkin High School. Applicants will be considered for current vacancies and any full- or part-time positions for the current school year.

Pay

Starting wage: $17.03 per hour.
