About the role

Support certified teachers in delivering quality education and assist students, particularly those with special needs, to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom or special education teachers in delivering instructional activities.
• Provide individualized support to students, including re-teaching lessons as needed.
• Support students with special needs, which may involve physical assistance such as lifting, toileting, and feeding.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor and report on student progress.

Requirements

• Completion of one of the following: at least 60 college credit hours, or successful completion of the Paraprofessional Assessment, or possession of a valid Missouri substitute teaching certificate.
• Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with student assistance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Successful completion of required background checks.
