Paraprofessional (Comupter Lab) - Lakewood High

Qualifications: Applicants must possess one of the following: an Associate's or higher degree; the completion of 60 credit hours of study towards a degree at an accredited institution; or a passing score on the Praxis Para Pro, WorkKeys, or an equivalent assessment. A minimum of three years of experience working in an elementary school setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the classroom teacher, helps maintain and oversee a positive learning environment.
• Assists the teacher in implementing appropriate daily learning experiences aligned with approved practices for the grade level and the instructional mission of the school and district.
• Collaborates with the teacher to make informed decisions regarding curricular planning, classroom environment, and instructional practices.
• Assists the teacher in providing unique and/or special accommodations required for students.
• Helps promote a safe, secure, and healthy learning environment.
• Works cooperatively and respectfully with others.
• Provides individualized instruction to identified students and small groups experiencing difficulty in reading and mathematics.
• Plans instructional activities that meet students' individual needs, interests, and abilities in reading and mathematics.
• Advises teachers about students' progress throughout the course of intervention.
• Helps retrieve and analyze student performance data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and determine progress.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Pay

Rate of pay is based upon credentials and experience in accordance with the district-approved pay schedule.

Schedule

Length of service: 185 days.

Reports to: Principal.
