Paraprofessional (Category B and C) - Preschool and Elementary - Extended Deadline

About the role

Middletown Township Public Schools is looking for qualified paraprofessionals to work with our preschool and elementary students. Positions available 9/1/2026 - 6/30/2027 (extended deadline). Previous applicants need not re-apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
• NJ Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Paraprofessionals who were hired and have been continuously employed with MTPS as of June 2005 and passed the in-district paraprofessional assessment are not required to meet the qualifications above.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in the delivery of effective instructional program.
• Record and/or collect data under the direction of the teacher.
• C/D Rate assignments: Monitor and implement a student's Behavior Intervention Plan / Address behavior as required.
• C Rate assignments: Assist with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering.

Pay

• B Rate: $26.55 per hour.
• C/D Rate: $30.41 per hour.

Schedule

Hours of Assignment: Up to 29.75 hours per week.
