Paraplanner/Financial Planning Associate
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in data gathering and research while collaborating with Wealth Advisers to create financial plans and investment proposals.
- Support the preparation of Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and assist with annual or semi-annual client plan reviews.
- Prepare meeting agendas, attend client meetings as directed, capture notes, and translate discussions into follow-up tasks and plan updates.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development initiatives, and firm-wide planning activities.
- Support business development efforts by preparing prospect analyses and planning illustrations as needed.
Technology & Platform Management
- Serve as an internal resource for the firm’s technology stack, including eMoney, Holistiplan, Orion, Nitrogen, and Redtail CRM.
- Update and maintain client data in eMoney following meetings, life events, or changes in client circumstances.
- Run tax analysis and Roth IRA conversion modeling using Holistiplan; prepare outputs for Wealth Adviser review and client presentation.
- Collaborate with Client Service team to maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and workflows within Redtail CRM; create and manage activity notes, tasks, and client contact records.
- Utilize Orion and coordinate with advisers on performance reporting needs.
- Run risk assessments in Nitrogen to support adviser-client risk conversations.
Role Overview
The Paraplanner / Financial Planning Associate will work with the Wealth Advisers and Client Service team by supporting the day-to-day financial planning process, preparing and maintaining client financial plans, and serving as a primary operator of the firm’s financial planning technology. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career adviser to gain hands-on experience, develop technical and client-facing skills, and grow into a lead advisory role over time within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Have passed the Series 65 exam or the ability to obtain within a specific timeframe.
- Working knowledge of financial planning concepts including retirement planning, tax planning, investment management, insurance, and estate planning.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in plan preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting information clearly to advisers and clients.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Proficiency
- Proficiency with eMoney, Holistiplan, Orion, Nitrogen, and Redtail strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an RIA or fee-only wealth management environment.
- Experience with high-net-worth client households and familiarity with complex planning scenarios.
- Financial Paraplanner Qualified ProfessionalSM (FPQP®) certification is a plus.
- CFP® certification track or interest in pursuing the CFP® designation.
