About This Position
Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility. In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service.
Requirements
- Education: Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required. Associate of Science degree preferred.
- Experience: Previous ambulance experience preferred. Previous advanced life support experience preferred. For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required. For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently. Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area.
Licensure/Certification
- Ground Paramedic Requirements:
- Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. State Requirement
- American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. NMHC Standard
- Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. State Requirement
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification. NMHC Preferred
- ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. NMHC Standard
- Air Care Paramedic Requirements:
- Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date.
- Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- National Registered Paramedic.
- American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
- Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire.
- American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days.
- ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform.
- Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.

Pay & Schedule
- Hours per two week pay period: 72
- Shift: Day/Evening/Night 12 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Weekends by Department Rotation

- Salary Range: Medical Transportation Paramedic Metro ($32.96 - $48.93), based on experience
- Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
