Position Summary
The Paramedic will provide emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Responsibilities include triage, urgent care delivery, and adherence to established protocols. The role demands efficient, accurate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- May perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing (training provided)
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing
- Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures
- Assist with case management of injuries and follow-up care
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician
- Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, including splints, oxygen, intravenous injections, and artificial resuscitation
- Communicate with emergency treatment facility personnel for further treatment and patient reception
- Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and ensure facility operations
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices
- Notify supervisor of equipment issues, supply needs, or facility malfunctions
- Aid clients with wellness activities
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
- Attend client safety team meetings or huddles
Education/Credentials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Major: Degree from an accredited college or university
- Certifications: Nationally Registered Paramedic, CPR/First Aid Certification, Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications, OSHA safety certifications, ARC/CPR Instructor
- Licenses: State credentials required
Experience
- At least 3 years of 911 experience
- Fire Fighter experience preferred
