About the role
The Ground Paramedic provides advanced medical care, transports patients to appropriate medical facilities, and participates in ongoing training to maintain certifications.
Responsibilities
- Provides advanced medical care, including evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of patients.
- Safely drives and operates ambulances and other emergency vehicles.
- Transports patients to appropriate medical facilities while ensuring their safety and stability.
- Maintains effective communication with dispatch, hospital staff, police, fire personnel, and other necessary parties.
- Accurately completes and maintains Patient Care Reports, files, and forms.
- Cleans and maintains medical equipment, vehicles, and living quarters.
- Participates in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain paramedic certification and stay current with medical protocols.
- Supervises and ensures the quality and accuracy of care provided by EMTs and other emergency personnel.
- Provides patient education on various health topics, including disease management and prevention.
- Acts as healthcare navigators for patients.
- Provides transitional care for patients after they are discharged from a hospital stay.
- Vaccines and manages medication inventories.
- Coordinates resources and provides patient care in diverse and non-traditional settings.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Paramedic course.
- Obtain Paramedic license in state of operation within 120 days.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Current valid driver license in good standing.
Qualifications
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
- Paramedic National Registry Certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (must obtain within 120 days of hire and maintain throughout employment).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (must obtain within 120 days of hire and maintain throughout employment).
- Attendance License (Before start of employment).

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $24.30 - $37.52.
