Paramedic - Full-Time

About the role

The Paramedic provides emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings, responding to emergency calls, assessing patients, administering advanced life support, and transporting patients to medical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, evaluate patient conditions, and determine appropriate interventions.
• Safely transport patients while monitoring and providing necessary care during transit.
• Administer advanced life support procedures including airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, and medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, emergency services, and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient care reports and ensure emergency vehicle and equipment readiness.
• Educate and reassure patients and families, adhering to legal, ethical, and safety standards.
• Interpret medical instructions and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving patients in challenging environments.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with protocols and skills.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current NYS Licensed Paramedic certification.
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications; AHA credentials required within 3 months if not held.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in varied, potentially hazardous environments and lift/move heavy patients and equipment.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and composure in high-pressure situations.
