Paramedic - Full-Time

About the role

A Paramedic provides emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings, responding to dispatch calls, assessing patients, administering life-saving interventions, and transporting them to medical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls, evaluate patient conditions, and determine appropriate treatments.
• Transport patients safely while monitoring and providing necessary care en route.
• Perform advanced life support (ALS) procedures such as airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, and medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, emergency personnel, and healthcare teams.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and responses accurately.
• Maintain emergency vehicles and medical equipment readiness.
• Educate and support patients and families during crises.
• Follow legal, ethical, and safety protocols.
• Interpret medical instructions and handle physical tasks like lifting patients in challenging environments.
• Engage in continuous education to stay current with protocols and skills.
• Remain composed and professional under high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Licensed Paramedic
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA credentials required within 3 months if not already held)
• Physical strength to lift and move patients and equipment, with ability to work in hazardous environments
• Ability to communicate clearly, remain calm, and work effectively under stress

Skills

• Preferred Experience: 3+ years in 911 and inter-facility transport
• Experience with critical care transports
