Paramedic Free Standing ER Paradise Valley

Responsibilities

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver.
• May include personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, initiation of peripheral intravenous, phlebotomy, eye irrigation, urinary catheterization, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of licensed caregiver.
• Assists with patient transport, maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and turning over rooms as required.
• Reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• After training may answer patch phone, under the direction of licensed caregiver.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge and necessary skills will be utilized to effectively meet the needs of patients of all age groups and developmental levels.
• Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5 are required.
• Required 1 year, Associate Degree, Diploma, or bachelor’s degree in pre-hospital/emergency medical service, CCEMT Preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Paramedic - Certification, ADHS Paramedic Certification or Arizona State Certified Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification, Required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Certification, Required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Certification, 180 Days Required.
