Paramedic - Event Medicine - PRN

Erlanger Medical Center is seeking a Paramedic to provide direct and/or indirect patient care within a team-based approach. This role involves coordinating care, supporting patients and families in self-management, and participating in quality improvement processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergent care appropriate to the age of patients in the Pediatric Department or Pediatric Sub-Specialty Area.
• Recognize emergent situations and act promptly based on patient needs.
• Select, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Administer pharmacological drugs as ordered, perform procedures, and operate necessary medical equipment.
• Assess patient data reflective of their status and interpret information to meet age-specific needs.
• Demonstrate competency through direct observation, skills labs, verbal or written discussions, peer reviews, or self-assessment.
• Manage the practice’s patient population and support quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Paramedic Training Program.
• Current licensure to practice as a Paramedic in the State of Tennessee.
• BLS certification completed prior to starting and maintained thereafter.
• Knowledge of emergency principles, organizational policies, and current trends in paramedic practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role.

This is a temporary position at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
