Paramedic Critical Care - LGH/ Full Time Variable Shifts
Responsibilities
Affords assessments of the nature and extent of illnesses/injuries to establish and prioritize medical care. Implements appropriate patient care interventions, which may include but are not limited to basic life support needs, IV insertion, and fluid and medication administration, advanced airway techniques, cardiac rhythm interpretations and monitoring, pacing and defibrillation, ventilator management, and blood administration. Provides emergent care, routine, and non-emergent care, and transportation to patients as needed by ambulance. Collects and submits necessary patient data for continued treatment. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to accomplish work assignments in a timely manner. Completes documentation and submits it in a timely manner. Communicates and shares information and ideas with all levels of personnel within the organization. Recognizes and appropriately intervenes in conflicts with personnel, patients, and other customers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Virginia Paramedic certification required
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support or recognized equivalent required for hire
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or recognized equivalent required for hire
- Hazardous Materials Awareness required within the first year of employment
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700 Completed
- Centrax’s Critical Care Transport Training program completed
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates’ Degree in healthcare or related field
- Previous pre-hospital EMS or transport experience
- National Registry Paramedic preferred
