Major Job Functions
- Inspect, thoroughly clean, inventory, and restock the ambulance assigned to him/her and report any deficiencies in any equipment observed
- Aid in maintaining the building and grounds of assigned quarters in a neat, clean, and orderly manner
- Respond to calls from an assigned quarters building and change locations when requested by a supervisor or dispatcher
- Receive and answer calls following the medical protocols and standard operating procedures
- Promptly correct any identified deficiencies as defined by department standards, policies, and procedures
- Ensure all pertinent medical records, patient information, radiographs and transfer authorizations will accompany patient from referring facility to accepting facility
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current certification by the State of North Carolina as a Paramedic
- Current Certification as a Critical Care Provider from an accepted institution required
- FP-C or CCP-C certification through BCCTPC required within 1 year required
- Current FP-C/CCP-C required to function in flight paramedic capacity
- Current certification in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) as sponsored by the Academy of Emergency Physicians or equivalent required
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as sponsored by the American Heart Association required
- Certificates of completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses 100, 200, & 700 required
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required and must maintain acceptable driving record
- Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months of employment
