About the role

Provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to patients. Opportunities for full-time retention agreement—paid at 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years. Free CEUs and courses for recertification. Part-time (24 h/wk) positions include full benefits.

Responsibilities

• Conducts self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times
• Communicates clearly, effectively, professionally, and in English via written and verbal means
• Notifies supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies
• Notifies supervisor immediately of any unusual circumstances
• Provides treatment in accordance with established patient care protocols
• Operates department vehicles in accordance with all applicable NJ Motor Vehicle Laws and MH driving-related policies
• Completes department-specific continuing programs in addition to those required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services
• Completes all patient care documentation in accordance with the MH Documentation Procedure
• Interacts professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public
• Performs routine duties to keep self safe and facilitate patient care, including:
  • Completing vehicle inspection forms and maintenance requests
  • Submitting copies of required certifications prior to their due date
  • Remaining compliant with hospital Employee Health requirements (e.g., TB testing and N95 fit testing)
  • Completing hospital-required processes such as annual employee self-evaluations and employee engagement surveys in a timely manner

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Current driver’s license and must satisfy current vehicle insurance company’s requirements
• NJ Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification (eligible for reciprocity)
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Hazmat Awareness Certification
• Must possess ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800
• Must have completed Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training

Preferred

• PHTLS/ITLS
• Associate degree

Pay

$38.03 – $46.62 per hour. Compensation depends on education, skills, and professional experience.
