The EMT-P lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, EMT-P provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The EMT-P delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols. Duties & Responsibilities Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues. Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians. Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols. Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews. Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift. Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines. Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company. Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date. Performing other related duties as required by management. Qualifications Experience & Skills: Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification Current CPR, Healthcare Provider Issue Current ACLS Certification Current PALS/PEPP Certification Current EVOC Certification BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS preferred Valid Driver’s License with no negative point Pass a criminal background check FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800c HAZMAT #IND1
