Paramedic
Job Summary
As a Paramedic at our facility, you will be doing an important work for our patients and our caregivers. You will be joining a team of detail-oriented, knowledgeable people who are passionate about what they do and who support one another. They know what it means to “care like family.”
Qualifications
- Maintain clear communication with the attending physician and licensed nurse assigned to patient about all patient care issues.
- Assist with patient examinations or treatments and observe and report patients’ signs or symptoms.
- Take vital signs and measure and record patient input and output.
- Attach oxygen and cardiac monitors.
- Monitor patient cardiac rhythm, perform 12 lead EKG, document EKG strips, suction patient airways as directed, and report findings to physician and care team assigned to patient.
- Receive patients from EMS personnel and prepare patients for the physician’s care.
- Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician and perform basic laboratory procedures.
- Absorb and retain knowledge of advanced cardiac life support, nonviolent crisis intervention, PALS pediatric advanced life support, and paramedic skills within 90 days of employment start date.
- Perform CPR, defibrillation, cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing during emergencies.
