About the role
First Rescue was founded by two working paramedics who believe private EMS can be done better. We aim to improve upon how many/most EMS companies operate. We understand the challenges faced by paramedics, such as long, hard hours in poor conditions and outdated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and documentation
- Maintain high standards of equipment readiness and professional conduct
- Ensure patients and hospital staff recognize a difference when First Rescue arrives
- Work in a non-corporate, professional environment with shared responsibility for maintaining the station
- Operate under a schedule and workload designed to support a sustainable, long-term career
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of industry experience
- Clean driving record
- Must meet company vehicle insurance eligibility (age 25 or older)
- Meet physical fitness standard: 2,000-meter Concept2 row for time
- Significant Critical Care Transport (CCT) experience; FP-C/CCP-C certification preferred
Qualifications
- Rockwall-based operations serving hospitals in the Rockwall area
- 12-hour shifts, 3 and 4 days per week alternating
- Day shift: 07:00 - 19:00
- Night shift: 19:00 - 07:00

Pay
We start at $90k annually, with a $2/hr increase for CCT certification and a $5/hr night shift differential. An estimated annual and hourly rate calculator is provided on the left for transparency.
Schedule
- Alternating 3 and 4 12-hour days per week
- 12-hour shifts with 76 regular hours and 8 OT hours (paid at time and a half)
