How you'll contribute
- Assess patients by obtaining medical history, performing physical assessments, determining the nature and severity of illness or injury, and establishing appropriate treatment priorities.
- Provide advanced life support (ALS) care within the North Carolina Paramedic scope of practice, including airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, IV/IO access, resuscitation, trauma care, and other emergency interventions.
- Continuously monitor and reassess patients during treatment and transport, adjusting care as needed and communicating patient status to receiving healthcare providers.
- Complete accurate electronic patient care reports (ePCRs) and maintain all required documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cook up with physicians, nurses, dispatch, fire departments, law enforcement, and other emergency responders to ensure seamless patient care and determine when additional resources are needed.
- Inspect, maintain, and restock department, medications, and medical equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with agency standards.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by following infection control practices, utilizing appropriate PPE, and cleaning and disinfecting vehicles and equipment after each patient encounter.
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment while remaining calm and effective in high-stress, rapidly changing, or hazardous environments involving single or multiple patient incidents.
- Represent CCH ED professionally through exceptional patient care, community outreach, educational events, and positive interactions with patients, families, healthcare partners, and the public.
- Participate in continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, required training, and maintain all certifications and clinical competencies. Support the orientation and development of new employees and students as assigned.

Education & Licenses
- Education: Associate's Degree Preferred
- Licenses: Paramedic; National Registry preferred
- Certifications: AHA, ARC or ASHI/HSI BLS/CPR; AHA, ARC or ASHI/HSI ACLS/ALS; AHA, ARC or ASHI/HSI PALS or PEPP; Trauma Certification: BTLS, PHTLS, ITLS, TECC or TCCC
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience as a full time paramedic
