Paramedic - 911 & Critical Care or Registered Nurse - 911 & Critical Care Transport - PRN

About the role

The Rice Lake critical care transport team includes Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians – Basic and Advance. This team provides care and management of patients of all ages and acuity in a mobile environment for 911 and interfacility transports. Patient care is determined on patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider. Our team is dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients throughout their transport and beyond. We offer 12 and 24 hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotations and self-scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical care to patients in a mobile environment for 911 and interfacility transports.
• Determine patient care based on patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider.
• Offer 12 and 24 hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotations and self-scheduling.
• Work with an onsite Station Dog.
• Lead and support other members of the critical care transport team.

Requirements

• Paramedic: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred. Two years of experience as a paramedic in an Ambulance setting. National registry status at a Paramedic level. State license required.
• Registered Nurse: Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), Paramedic (PAR) Certification, NIMS Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, and 700, and ACLS, PALS, and NRP.

Qualifications

• Paramedic: Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
• Registered Nurse: Valid Driver's License and good driving record.

Skills

Complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Knowledge of paramedic principles, practices, and techniques, and how various equipment such as monitors and defibrillators work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
