Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, assess, educate, triage, and provide various nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
- Provide empathetic care across all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Demonstrate competency and utilize comprehensive nursing expertise.
- Assist with patient care in receiving facilities, including lifting and moving patients as required.
- Support management and staff during emergency medical situations.
- Attend training classes to maintain certifications and stay updated on new developments in the field.
- Complete academic assessments for students in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (e.g., AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
- Two years of experience as a paramedic in an ambulance setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and national registry status as a paramedic.
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
Qualifications
- Lead Paramedic: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
- Paramedic: Two years of experience as a paramedic in an ambulance setting. Must have a thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices, and techniques, and hold national registry status at a Paramedic level.
- Additional licenses as required depending on state, including Paramedic (PAR) Certification, NIMS ICS 100, 200, and 700, and ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
