Paralegal - Estate Planning & Elder Law

About the role

This is a small, established practice in Western Stark County, Ohio focused on helping families navigate estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, and trust administration. The attorney has served the community for decades with a practical, compassionate approach that clients rely on at life's most important moments.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend signing appointments with clients for trusts, wills, and powers of attorney
• Meet with clients at follow-up appointments to gather information and complete Medicaid applications
• Gather, process, assemble, and scan documents for Medicaid application submissions
• Work directly with the attorney to complete and file Medicaid applications
• Prepare basic documents including powers of attorney and trust drafts

Requirements

• Experience in Medicaid planning or estate planning strongly preferred
• Background as a JFS (Job and Family Services) caseworker or similar public benefits role will be considered
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Outlook; comfortable with scanning
• Notary Public, or willing and able to become one (the firm covers all fees)
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through without being managed
• Sharp attention to detail — accuracy matters in every document we produce
• Must agree to and abide by the firm's Code of Conduct: professional presentation, communication, and attire at all times
• Personal social media conduct must not reflect negatively on this firm
