Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the accuracy and compliance of legal billing processes
• Verify UTBMS task codes and billing guideline compliance
• Identify process improvements and technology needs
• Work independently and collaborate effectively within teams
• Adapt to evolving technology and processes

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in legal services or legal auditing environment
• Paralegal Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in a legal-related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in legal billing processes and familiarity with bill submission software
• A strong understanding of legal terminology and claims processes, with multijurisdictional exposure preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and sound judgment
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills for collaboration and guidance within teams
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice to have

• Experience verifying UTBMS task codes and billing guideline compliance
• Knowledge of federal and state civil procedure rules
• Prior exposure to legal cost analysis or legal vendor management

Preferred Education and Experience

• Paralegal certification or a legal-related bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in legal billing, auditing, or related fields
• Prior experience working with legal invoice review and adjustments
