Responsibilities
- Play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of legal billing processes.
- Verify UTBMS task codes and billing guideline compliance.
- Identify process improvements and technology needs.
- Work independently and collaborate effectively within teams.
- Review and adjust legal invoices.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in legal services or legal auditing environment.
- Paralegal Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in a legal-related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in legal billing processes and familiarity with bill submission software.
- A strong understanding of legal terminology and claims processes, with multijurisdictional exposure preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration and guidance within teams.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Nice to have
- Experience verifying UTBMS task codes and billing guideline compliance.
- Knowledge of federal and state civil procedure rules.
- Prior exposure to legal cost analysis or legal vendor management.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Paralegal certification or a legal-related bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in legal billing, auditing, or related fields.
- Prior experience working with legal invoice review and adjustments.
