This position is open for currently employed Shelton Public Schools paraeducators and members of Local 1303-196 of Council #4 (AFSCME).
About the role
The PARAEDUCATOR will provide support services to students with disabilities in the classroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist students with daily living skills
- Support teachers in implementing lesson plans
- Monitor student behavior and safety
- Participate in team meetings and professional development
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license
- Passing score on a background check
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of special education curriculum
- Basic computer skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
