About the role
Kent School District seeks a Paraeducator to support students at Meridian Elementary.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom teachers in providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with lesson preparation and implementation as directed by teachers.
- Supervise students during breaks, transitions, and other times when adult supervision is needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Prior to starting, candidates must meet the minimum employment requirements for paraeducators in the State of Washington.
- Associate (AA) degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- 72 college level credits from an accredited institution.
- A score of 455 or higher on the ETS ParaPro Assessment and proof of high school completion or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Willingness to take the ParaPro Assessment if not already met.
- Completion of state required training upon hire.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of educational best practices and safety protocols.
