About the role
The Power of WE! is seeking dedicated paraeducators to join our team. Our paraeducators play a crucial role in providing high-quality instruction and fostering strong relationships with students and families.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of specially designed instruction
- Implement components of IEPs and BIPs
- Observe and report student performance
- Work cooperatively with teachers, related service providers, and school staff
- Assist with the preparation and organization of the physical learning environment
- Participate in parent conferences and IEP meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
- Attend required professional development and training
Requirements
- Eligible or have a valid Paraprofessional Permit
- High School Diploma or GED
- No criminal background report entries on Child Protection Registry
- Knowledge and skills in working with students with disabilities
- Ability to support students with physical positioning and self-care
- Ability to teach/serve students remotely and in person
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or higher
- Successfully completed 60 college credits towards licensure, certification or permit
- Passing ParaPro Exam or Para Pathways Exam
Skills
- Proficient in technology
- Knowledge of evidence and research-based strategies for student learning
- Sensitivity to issues impacting various cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic groups
