THE POSITION

THE CANDIDATE

• Education And Experience: Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. Requires two years of college (48 units) or pass the District’s assessment that demonstrates knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction or pass the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). An Associate’s degree is highly desirable.
• Experience: Some experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in an organized setting, including individuals with special developmental needs.
• Licenses And Other Requirements: Valid NCPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) training and certification; employees must fulfill certification requirements within the first six (6) months of the probationary period. Valid First Aid and CPR certifications; employees must fulfill certification requirements within the first three (3) months of the probationary period.

THE NEED

To fill any current part time vacancies (up to 28.75 hours per week) and to establish an eligibility list to fill future vacancies. The established eligibility list will remain in effect for six (6) months. Please read this job bulletin in its entirety for minimum qualifications, recruitment and testing information. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (Upon Offer Of Employment)

• Employment Verification: The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that the District obtain documentation from every individual who is employed which verifies identity and authorizes his/her right to work in the United States.
• Fingerprinting: State law requires that all employees be fingerprinted.
• Health & Welfare Plan Choices: Include Anthem CDHP PPO 90 with optional health savings account (HSA), Kaiser Permanente CDHP DHMO with optional health savings account (HSA), Anthem PPO Medical, Kaiser Permanente HMO Medical, Cash-in-Lieu option: Full-time employees (40 hours per week) who can prove they are covered by group medical coverage, may opt out of benefits to participate in Cash in Lieu at any time of the year (up to $5,000 per year, paid out in increments of $500 per month (September – June)).

HOLIDAYS

• Approximately 14 paid holidays per year.

VACATION

• The district provides for 1 day of illness leave per month worked, with unlimited accumulation for unused days.
• Vacation is earned based on assigned hours. (For example: a new employee working 8 hours/day, 12-months per year will earn one vacation day per month, up to a total of twelve (12) days of vacation per year. Employees who work less than 12-months per year or less than 8 hours/day shall be entitled to a prorated share of vacation benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.)
• Vacation earned increases with years of service with the district.

SICK LEAVE

• The district provides for 1 day of illness leave per month worked, with unlimited accumulation for unused days.
