Paraeducator

About the role

To assist the special education teacher in working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels commensurate with their capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing instruction and support to students with special needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Support classroom activities and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other professionals to address student needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Kansas driver’s license
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Pass a background check

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of special education principles and practices
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs

Pay

$13.53-$19.78/hour (wage determined by years of relevant experience)
