Paraeducator I - 2 hrs/day (Woodridge and Hillsdale)

Assists one or more teachers with one-on-one or small group tutoring and/or in the direct care, supervision, and support of children in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and prepares classroom materials, attendance records, health forms, and student files.
• Provides instructional assistance that reinforces learning to individuals or small groups of students.

Requirements

• Equivalent of a high school diploma.
• Experience working with students in a classroom or equivalent environment.
• Successful completion of a competency exam.
• NCLB Compliance: 48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
• Proof of high school graduation (diploma, transcripts, or equivalent such as GED).
• Resume providing clear evidence of required experience.

Qualifications

• May require a valid driver’s license.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.

Pay

$19.04 - $25.18 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Schedule

• 2 hours/day; 5 days/week.
• 182 work days/year.
