Paraeducator II - 6 hrs/day (Woodlake)

About the role

Provides instructional, group and individual behavior, and clerical support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms and play field environs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to teachers in special education classrooms
• Assist with behavior management for individuals or small groups of students
• Support clerical tasks related to classroom activities
• Help with instruction and classroom management in both special and general education settings

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics or completion of at least 48 college credit units
• Valid driver’s license (may be required)
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements
• Valid First Aid/CPR card (may be required)

Qualifications

• NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
• Proof of High School Graduation (diploma, transcripts, or equivalent such as GED)
• Resume providing clear evidence of required experience

Pay

$20.38 - $26.98 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Schedule

• 6 hours/day, 5 days/week
• 182 work days/year
