Paraeducator- Chelmsford High School

Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for a Classroom Paraeducator position at Chelmsford High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The District reserves the right to change or not fill this vacancy based on staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

About the role

Work with high school students, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom, to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Additional duties as required by the special education department or high school principal.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting
• Assist students with toileting as needed
• Follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
• Collect data consistently if needed

Requirements

• Associate's Degree, two years of college, or passing the para test
• Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities
• Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records
• Knowledge of special education procedures
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the High School level
• Ability to support students academically with high school curriculum
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting

Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
