Paraeducator / 28.75 Hour / Special Education / Norton Elementary School

Paraeducator to support students during whole and small group instruction, as well as working with individual children throughout the day. Supervises lunch and recess and accompanies students to specials (art, music).

Responsibilities

• Support students during whole and small group instruction
• Work with individual children throughout the day
• Supervise lunch and recess
• Accompany students to specials (art, music)
• Perform other tasks as needed to support classroom instruction under the supervision of the classroom teacher

Requirements

• Experience working with young children
• Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (desirable)
• Two years of college credit OR Associates Degree or higher OR has passed a State Board of Education adopted paraprofessional assessment

Pay

Starting salary: $18.63/hour (in accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and CSEA/SEIU Local 2001/760 in Behalf of the Cheshire Paraeducators and Lunchroom/Playground Aides).
