About the role
This position assists a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students who may have extreme behavioral issues in a classroom. The primary responsibilities include direct instruction, monitoring, and reporting student progress regarding behavior and performance. Additionally, the role involves assisting students in developing various self-help, behavior, social, and community skills.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and at least two years experience, paid or voluntary, working with children/individuals with disabilities.
- One of the following: possession of an Associate’s degree or higher, at least 48 college semester units, or pass the (ESSA) Every Student Succeeds Act exam.
- Certificate required: SCOE Para Proficiency certificate OR NCLB/ESSA certificate, CBEST, or transcripts showing minimum 48 college units or date AA Degree or higher was awarded.
Benefits
A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental, and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
