Para Educator Severe - Counseling Enriched POOL 2026-2027 - DEADLINE: Open Until Filled

About the Role

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

Counseling Enriched, Special Education at Various School Sites in Stanislaus County, CA.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience in working with children or individuals with disabilities.

Certificates & Degrees: This position requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate. The following CAN be substituted for the SCOE Para Proficiency Test: NCLB/ESSA Test certificate from Stanislaus County, CBEST, or transcripts showing minimum of 48 college units or date AA Degree or higher level degree was awarded (transcripts can be unofficial). Please attach a copy to your application.

Additional Requirements (not required at time of application, but will be required if offered employment):

• DOJ Fingerprint clearance
• TB Clearance
• Lift Test/Drug Screen clearance

Testing Information

Applicants that MEET the Minimum Requirements and did NOT submit a copy of SCOE Para Educator Proficiency Test or equivalent will receive an e-mail invitation to attend the testing.

Pay

Pay Range $22.40 - $27.44 Per Hour (Range 7, CSEA Classified Regular Salary Schedule). Initial salary placement is restricted to a maximum of Step 3 ($24.95) for external candidates.

Schedule

3-6 hours per day, 182 days/10 months (Part Time).

Benefits

A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
