Purpose

This position supports Billerud’s mission to lead the way in sustainable packaging and business practices. It involves driving continuous improvement in Paper operations and efficient production across multiple machine lines.

Summary Description

The role will troubleshoot issues across all machine lines, act as an additional resource to expedite troubleshooting efforts, work on cost reduction initiatives, develop training materials, and mentor Paper area leaders. Additionally, this position will help build bench strength, act as a production lead on capital projects, and temporarily backfill for open coordinator positions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Fully support the mill safety programs.
  • Implement and lead area improvements by following Billerud's Operational Excellence business model.
  • Ensure Business Unit, Operations, and Supply Chain are fully coordinated.
  • Convert the Business Plan to a daily operations plan.
  • Provide technical expertise in the daily operations of the unit, including assisting operators in resolving gaps between production and the plan.
  • Analyze and allocate production losses.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in pulp paper science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of related paper, operational, or manufacturing/industrial experience
  • Proven experience with several leadership behaviors: Leading and Advocating Change, Drive for Results, Communication, Managerial Courage, Building and Effective Team, and Managing through Systems
