Financial Assistance Coordinator
About the role
This position is responsible for the timely, accurate, consistent, and confidential administration of the Organization's financial assistance program. The Financial Assistance Coordinator reviews applications and supporting documentation and has delegated authority to approve or deny financial assistance requests based on the Organization's established eligibility criteria, policies, and procedures. The Coordinator documents determinations and communicates decisions and program requirements to applicants in a caring, respectful, and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and process financial aid applications
- Provide/maintain a status report on all open applications for operations team
- Maintain financial aid records and documentation
- Monitor and ensure compliance with policies
- Prepare and submit reports related to financial aid activities and expenditures
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency of financial aid processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience working in a financial aid office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Work environment and physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach and must be able to move around the work environment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
