Job Description
The Panel Care Coordinator functions as an intermediary between the Medical Team and the patient. This role provides first-line support for electronic and telephone queries related to non-office visits. The coordinator manages patient care, conveys pertinent information to the Medical Team, and assists in creating a timely treatment plan.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP preferred
- N/A license required
- Prefer currently certified/recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from one of the following institutions: AAMA, NAHP, AMT, National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Must maintain certification according to certifying organization's standards
- Required: 2 years clinical experience as MA
Physical Demands
- Moderately active work involving sitting with frequent movement
- Exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Using many physical motions in performing daily work activities
- Subject to exposure of body fluids, sputum, and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as a computer keyboard
- Close visual and acuity needed to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Must be able to work extended periods without undue fatigue
- Must be able to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts, or weekends

- Possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.)
- Be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages
