Painter Technician

Responsibilities

  • Variety of painting projects including fleet vehicles, containers, compactors, and equipment.
  • Prepping duties such as sanding, scraping, painting, and placing decals.
  • Maintaining inventory and inspecting materials for problems/defects.
  • Ensuring safety by maintaining proper safety decals on completed jobs.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with company, OSHA, and ANSI standards.
  • Completing required inventory and paperwork using a computer system.
  • Utilizing standard shop hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment.
  • Providing professional interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Assisting in other projects or areas of the shop as needed.
  • Engaging in vehicle body repair work.

Requirements

  • Experience in all aspects of production painting in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use the computer to account for own labor hours every day.
  • Ability to maintain an attitude that fosters a positive environment.
  • Ability to work safely, in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to pass pulmonary test and respirator fit test.

Qualifications

  • One year experience with airless paint sprayers preferred.
  • One year experience with fiberglass resin preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Continuous working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions.
  • Continuous working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and airborne matter.
  • Continuous stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
  • Frequent climbing and balancing.

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects

  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Flexible work hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Completion of pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
