Painter / Maintenance Technician

About the role

Full-time Painter position located in West Baltimore City at our Mountain Manor Baltimore facility. Must be willing to travel to other MTC locations in the near future.

Schedule

Monday - Friday business hours with a flexible start time between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility maintenance painting, including surface preparation, painting, and finishing.
• Perform interior and exterior painting using scaffolding, swinging stages, and lifts to reach high places.
• Prepare surfaces by washing with special acids and catalysts, stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning to remove old coats, filling nail holes, spackling cracks, sandpapering rough spots, brushing off dust, caulking, applying primer or sealer on new surfaces, removing hardware, masking trims and molding, and laying down drop cloths.
• Mix and thin paints or stains to achieve the right color, shade, and texture.
• Apply paints, varnishes, or stains using appropriate applicators for each job depending on surface characteristics and finish requirements.
• Blend surface colors and contours to prevent detection of repaired areas.
• Apply repeated coatings to achieve a smooth and uniform finish.
• Observe all safety precautions and use equipment and chemical treatments properly to avoid harm to self, others, and property.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18+ months of strong commercial or industrial painting experience (must be verifiable with references).
• Proficiency in brushing, rolling, surface prep (sanding, masking), and operating equipment.
