About the role

Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Know how to set up a conventional paint pot
• Experience with air assisted and airless paint systems
• Mix kits of paint
• Understand how to paint complex structures
• Able to work on solo projects and as a member of a team
• Understand WFT gauges and how to use them
• Experience with the most common industrial coatings
• Able to consistently hit mils while painting
• On-the-job training offered

Responsibilities

This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Willing to join the applicable local union
• Able to perform basic math
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
• Must be able to work from heights
• Must be able to pass a background check if required by jobsite
• Must have reliable transportation
• Dependable individual who will arrive to scheduled shift on time and ready to work
• Eager self-starter who is willing to learn new skills

Qualifications

• Previous experience with painting/coatings application is preferred
• Marine Plural Component Program (C14) paint certification preferred
• Local to the San Diego area

Skills

• Knowledge of conventional paint pots
• Experience with air assisted and airless paint systems
• Ability to mix paint kits
• Understanding of complex structures
• Proficiency with WFT gauges
• Experience with industrial coatings
• Consistent mils hitting ability
