About the Role
Works in a team to prepare and paint parts for sub-assemblies on commercial HVAC products. Coordinates the work of co-workers and ensures that their work meets all production standards and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all directions from senior painter/supervisor.
- Apply cleaning solution and wipe off with lint-free cloth.
- Apply primer and paint to meet engineering specifications.
- Complete hazardous waste training.
- Complete job assignments on time so as not to slow production.
- Complete respirator certification and fit test.
- Complete paint training successfully.
- Ensure all paint is a proper mix of paint/primer.
- Ensure paint lines remain hooked up and full of units or wagons.
- Ensure units are painted with proper color.
- Scrape and sand where necessary.
- Take inventory and replenish paint supplies.
- Train new employees.
- Use computer to verify schedules and check inventory availability.
- Communicate effectively with management and co-workers to achieve department and company goals.
- Coordinate area activities with other departments.
- Maintain a safe and productive work area.
- Practice good attendance.
- Adhere to Safety Inspections.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand up to 95 percent of work shift hours.
- Work in conditions below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees on occasion.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of all systems & procedures throughout wipe down and paint processes.
- Minimum of 6 months industry experience or equivalent experience in a similar industry (preferred).
- Complete AAON training.
