About the role

The Painter, Automotive worker coats surfaces of motor vehicles with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other materials; removes old paint using liquid paint remover and scraper; smooths surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool; roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool; masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted; paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters, or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.

Responsibilities

  • Lifts up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently or constantly.
  • Climbs in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
  • Stands for long periods of time.
  • Works in cramped areas for long periods of time.
  • Works in all types of weather conditions including intense heat, heavy wind, heavy rain, and snow or sleet.
  • Holds a valid state driver's license.
  • Attains licenses on military vehicles, tactical and non-tactical.
  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Passes a background check and obtains a security clearance if required.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Safety and OSHA Law & Regulations.

Requirements

Must have formal documented training and a minimum of five years of documented Painter, Automotive experience.

Qualifications

Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds.

Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to work in cramped areas for long periods of time.

Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, heavy rain, and snow or sleet.

Must have a valid state driver's license.

Must be able to attain licenses on military vehicles, tactical and non-tactical.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to pass a back-ground check and attain a security clearance if required.
