Painter

Position Summary

Places individual pieces or racks on conveyor.

Prep products, pieces and parts for paint.

Washes parts with high pressure washer using wand-type sprayer.

Applies powder coating to prescribed thickness evenly and consistently.

Mixes and applies wet paint with a high degree of quality.

Able to use media blaster.

Proper use of designated PPE for Paint Dept.

Other duties and functions as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Able to follow directions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0 - 1 years of paint application experience in an industrial setting
• Must be able to use electrostatic powder coating equipment and wet spray guns
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must be able to read blueprints

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and with assistance
• Ability to bend, kneel and stoop frequently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to follow all safety requirements
• Ability to work in small areas in order to perform the work
• Ability to climb step ladders, work platforms as needed

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
