Responsibilities

  • Responsible for routine painting and wall covering; prepares surfaces and removes previous paint to apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes.
  • Inspects and refurbishes wall surfaces by means of the appropriate materials.
  • Checks assigned areas and touches up all paint as needed on all buildings, structures, carts, and signs.
  • Operates a vehicle, trucks, forklift, pressure washer, sand blaster, spray equipment, air compressors, power lifts, Cushman cart, and two-way radio.
  • Applies wood finishing by suitably preparing surface.
  • Determines, cuts, and applies wallpaper or fabric to walls as requested.
  • Finishes dry wall.
  • Follows all established PPE procedures and company policies.
  • Completes appropriate documents, such as records and logs.
  • Interacts with and communicates with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, vendors, contractors, inspectors, etc.
  • Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Six Flags safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Related vocational training preferred. Graphic art, fabricating, and installing signs and/or sign painting training preferred.
  • Sign painting experience if applicable for the park.
  • Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of painting, paints, varnishes, enamels and other finishes, and of their uses in painting work.
  • General knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade and skilled in hazardous material handling, application and disposal.
  • Good skills in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Pay

Salary details based on level of experience: $23.89 / hr - $37.46 / hr

Schedule

Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
