Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in the safe application of industrial coatings to a variety of mobile oilfield service equipment.
• Ensure quality and proper procedures are used during material preparation, painting, and abrasive blasting.
• Read and interpret equipment assembly specifications, such as charts, schematics, blueprints, and typed instructions.
• Bring technical problems encountered to the Lead Hand’s attention for resolution.
• Participate in regular shop/yard organization and cleanliness exercises.
• Train new employees in painting/preparation operations as required.
• Complete and maintain various records and documentation.
• Work independently or in a team on complex and multiple projects requiring judgment to resolve problems.
• Familiarize yourself with operation controls such as safe working practices and job hazard analysis.

Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-5+ years’ experience or demonstrate competency in related field
• Experience or demonstrate equivalent knowledge of industrial painting processes in surface preparation, painting, and surface metal fiberglass repair and anticorrosion zinc coating/priming
• Meet company standard for pulmonary and respiratory functions
• Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments

Job Requirements

• Pass a drug screen, physical exam, respirator fit test, & background check
• Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required
• Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization
• Working knowledge of shop safety practices
• Understanding of quality assurance concepts
• Comfortable working in a factory environment with temperature variations
• Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and repetitive movements for up to 8 hours per day
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
