About the role
This position assists in providing necessary protection, safety, coding and decoration of hospital as well as assists skilled and/or general in completing their tasks and performs a variety of duties in and around the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Conducts regular rounds of all areas of the hospital, office building, and support service buildings to identify needs for repair of paint, walls, and wall coverings.
- Paints, patches and repairs wall coverings as required.
- Inspects and maintains safety markings on curbs and cross walks at least annually
- Maintains painting materials and equipment in good operating condition
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of paint and supplies and obtains pricing for items to be ordered.
- Assists other facility related positions and special work teams when necessary.
- Has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms.
- Works with management to develop procedures and controls designed to assure safe use, storage and handling of painting supplies.
Qualifications
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED.
- Experience: Five (5) years of commercial painting experience.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb and work off of ladders, scaffolding or electric lifts and operate basic manual cleaning equipment.

- Able to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
- Able to deal tactfully and harmoniously with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Able to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care, including variances in human resources.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of and ability to follow attendance/ punctuality/ timecard system/scheduling policies.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of parking/hospital department locations.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and adhere to dress code.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Compliance Program/Code of Conduct/Confidentiality.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Management Plan.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of physical health/wellness information and Exposure Control Plan.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Office/workplace safety.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of Risk Management/Occurrence Report Practices/Non-punitive Work Environment.
