Painter

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance of wallcoverings and appurtenances.
• Affords assistance with various building renovations, including removing existing walls and reframing.
• Inspects, patches, and repairs damaged walls.
• Performs all types of painting projects such as refinishing wood trim, painting doors, etc.
• Selects and applies compatible paint based on substrate.
• Affords assistance in developing the scope of painting projects to be outsourced.
• Oversees the quality of work of painting contractors.
• Provides services for basic building maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in drywall, painting, or related maintenance trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including trade school training.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work early and/or work late and/or work weekends based on other departmental schedules.
• Knowledge of electrical Lock Out/Tag Out and Personal Protective Equipment usage.
• Knowledge in the use and care of tools, including cordless and corded power tools.
